Central Region:Cape Coast  Wreck Flood Kills 6 At UCC.

Three people have been washed away and killed during flooding.


Three people were washed away and killed during flooding at Kwaprow a suburb of Cape Coast in the Central Region.

Three University of Cape Coast Students also escape death during the flood.

Two were killed by the flood were old women who were washed away by the flood and later the Security Officer working with the University of Cape Coast was also washed away by the heavy flood.

Information gathered by Soireenews.com revealed that the two old women who were between the ages of Eighty and Eighty-Five were in their room asleep when the flood washed them away.

The report revealed that their houses were situated along a huge and narrow bridge which over flooded and entered their room and washed them away.

They couldn't run away due to their health situation.

Meanwhile, the University of Cape Coast Security Officer was chasing his belongings which were taken away by the flood which leads to his demise.

Almost all the houses in Kwaprow Community were flooded and all rooms were also flooded.

Victims were found standing and stranded in their rooms because water has taken over their rooms.

Speaking in an interview with soireenews Reporter central region, some of the Victims said, they don't have any place to sleep as of now as water has taken over their rooms.

They are however appealing to the Government, the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency Hounrable Mintah, and the Cape Coast Major to go into their aid to  Support them.

According to them, their members of Parliament are seen during campaign time and political season.

They threaten to boycott any political activities if nothing is done on the flooding issues.

They said roads in the Community don't have gutters which disagrees with the main cause of flooding in their Community.


Meanwhile, the Development Chief of Kwaprow Nana Kwame Ntsiful V also blamed the Road Contractors for causing the flood in their Community.

He said most of his Residents how ssleepat in the Chief's Palace as the blood has taken over their rooms.

He said, three of the University of Cape Coast Students nearly washed away in the flood but it took the intervention of some of the residents to rescue them.

He then appealed to the Ministry of Roads and  Highways to assist the community with gutters to get rid of the flooding incidents in the area.

The three persons who were washed away by the flood have not been retrieved yet.

They have also reported the case to lice for investigation.
