The Member of Parliament for the Yendi Constituency, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama is set to commission eighteen of his first phase of 100 Boreholes Projects in the Area.

The projects which will be handed over to the beneficiary communities would help reduce the scarcity of water in the Constituency.

The communities that have benefited from the first phase of the MP's intervention include; Gagbini(2 boreholes), Kpatuya(1 borehole), Gukpegu( 1 borehole ), Kpasani(1 borehole ), Kpalgigbini-lahanja (1 borehole), Wankpang(2 boreholes), Kushegu(1 borehole), Saasigli(2 boreholes), Kpalbilogni(2 boreholes), Nakpachei(1  borehole), Meindoyilli(1 borehole), Bago(1 borehole), Yimahigu(1 borehole) and Kpachiyilli(1 borehole) Community.

The project is being executed in collaboration efforts with Dunya, a Germany based NGO.

Alhaji Farouk before the commencement of the project at a sot-cutting ceremony said the project aims to ensure that his constituents get clean water to curb water-born disease.

According to him, water is one of the basic needs for the survival of mankind hence his determination to provide quality water for the Constitutes. 

The project is estimated at the cost of Ghc1.5m( 15 billion old cedis) and the commissioning has been scheduled on Sunday, 27th June and Monday, 28th June 2021.
