sector transparency and accountability in Ghana on coronavirus COVID-19 epidemic vaccine equity and distribution in Ghana.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, the Head of Research Team for Budget Ghana, Mr Kind Dir Iddrisu explained that the organisation aimed at engaging with both institutions and citizenry as well as other civil society organizations to advance transparency and accountability in the health sector in Ghana on Covid-19 Transparency and Accountability Project (CTAP) to lend insight into government expenditure to mitigate against the impact of the pandemic, while strengthening public awareness and ensuring effective governments use of COVID-19 funds.

Mr. Idrisu stressed Budglt Ghana studies sought to outline problems and related 
emerging issues and measure changes in different transformation to ultimately inform civil society advocacy towards health sector transparency and 
vaccine equity.

He indicated that COVID-19 Transparency and Accountability Project (CTAP) is committed in tracking all resources from both public and private sectors, ranged from grants, donations, loans and material support.
Mr. Iddrisu therefore, used the opportunity to outline their findings and urged all to play a vital role in advocacy, 
He recommended government to increase trust in public servants and volunteers, which is a key in accelerating efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals and increasing the power of influence of citizens on 
agenda-setting.
On his part, the Country Manager of Budglt Ghana, Mr Felix Ankrah stated that, in tracking COVID 19 funds, Budglt Ghana undertook two major research projects about the expenditure with the aim to deepen civic engagement and access to information.

He expressed concerns about the potential for misuse of the COVID-19 funds in developing economies, especially when they are dispersed and prompted government to take steps to improve transparency and accountability challenges presenter by COVID-19 more critical.
He stressed that the studies explored Ghana’s health sector’s resilience, transparency and accountability along the areas of health sector governance, civic environment and government of the Country.
