THERE is an atmosphere of joy, celebration, and gratitude as the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly elected a new Presiding Member (PM) in the person of Honourable Augustine Ackon.
The venue on Monday February 12, 2024, 
was filled with all who matter in the political, traditional, and administrative setup in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality.
They were there to fulfill a provision in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (ACT 936) with Amendment (ACT 940) which states that a Presiding Member shall be elected every two (2) years, with a two-thirds majority, from among the Assembly Members.
They elected Honourable Augustine Ackon against the incumbent PM Honourable Kwame Asamoah.
A speech by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Assembly, Mr Paul Andoh,set the tone for the electoral process.
He appealed to the Assembly Members to continue to remain united even as they exercise their franchise.
After he was sworn in, the new Presiding Member, expressed his gratitude to all for their assistance, in diverse ways, to make his election possible.
He called for all hands on deck as they chart a new vision, a new direction, with renewed hope and energy.
