Be concerned about your future-Torgbe Matsi V admonishes the youth

Dufia of Wlitey Matsikope, a farming community within the Akatsi South District of the Volta Region has called for concerted efforts in dealing with issues rating to the youth.

The move he indicated, will be plausible in salvaging the future adding that, but that can only happen with a united front.

He further urged opinion leaders and stakeholders to help impress upon the youth to live a worthy lifestyle. Given that, the Traditional leader stressed the urgent need to guide the youth in securing a worthy future for themselves. In doing that, he acknowledged, a future worthy of emulation would be assured. Togbe Matsi V observed as part of an admonishment to the youth not to take advantage of festivities to engage in activities likely to destroy their promising future. He appealed to parents, guardians, and stakeholders to step up efforts to guide the youth to atop acts inimical to their futures and the development of the nation. According to Torgbi Matsi who bemoaned the excessive drinking amongst the youth therefore urging that they take charge of their destiny. In terms of taking alcohol, he urged that they should know their levels and capabilities so they would not overdrink in the long run. "If you know that when you take two bottles of alcoholic drink, you get intoxicated, then reduce it to one, if four bottles make you intoxicated, then reduce it to two or one", he advised. His advice stemmed from the fact that alcoholism among the youth coupled with smoking is on the rise hence the resulting liver infections. He explained that those who have the grace to stop should do just that. He urged that they should not take advantage of festive occasions to destroy their beautiful futures adding that they should be measured in whatever they do. " Easter, Christmas, and others should not be opportunity to engage in acts that are capable of destroying your future", he noted.
