The German club believes the Norwegian could be the next Lewandowski but are expected to make an offer next summer.

Bayern Munich are 'confident' they will win the race for Erling Haaland, according to reports.

But the German giants are planning to land him next summer if he stays at Borussia Dortmund for one more season.

The Norwegian forward is wanted by all Europe's major clubs ahead of the transfer window, including Manchester United and Man City.

Dortmund insists they have no plans to sell the 20-year-old, but is unlikely to deter Haaland's admirers with £100million-plus offers expected as soon as the season ends.

Next summer, however, Haaland is available for about £65million due to a clause in his contract and the Daily Mail claim Bayern believe they can win the race for him under those circumstances, as they seek the long-term heir to Robert Lewandowski.
