Awards are just bonuses, the art bodies are more important – Black Sherif

Sensational According to Ghanaian musician Black Sherif, winning prizes is only a bonus for the effort put out; the art organizations hold the greatest significance.

Born Mohammed Ismail, better known by his stage name Black Sherif, has opened up about how he feels about his recent BET nominations.

Black Sherif remarked that the work that goes into the projects is more essential than the praise, so he has focused his energy on the work rather than awards, in an interview with DJ Reuben of Luv 99.5 FM.

The singer of "Soja" claims that honors and awards given after art bodies are created serve only to spur artists on to greater achievement.

Because the art bodies are what draw the awards, they are always larger than the awards. Accolades are merely extras; art bodies are what attract prizes, thus in essence, the body weighs more than the awards, according to him.

Despite having only been in the music business for a short while, Black Sherif said he doesn't think his BET nomination was premature. He claims that he has always been prepared for anything that comes his way.

"I won't claim that my BET nomination was premature. I have always been prepared for everything. I can't let anything slide, and I know how to handle situations even when I'm unprepared, he continued.
