The Assemblies at a Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC) meeting in Winneba on Monday, January 25, 2022, resolved to intensify patrols on the highway to curb the growing number of highway robberies on the stretch.

Some five Municipal Assemblies in the Central Region have resolved to partner with the Police in the fight against highway robberies. 
The Assemblies at a Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC) meeting in Winneba on Monday, January 25, 2022, resolved to intensify patrols on the highway to curb the growing number of highway robberies on the stretch.
The Kasoa to Cape Coast stretch since the beginning of the year has witnessed four major highway robberies in all. 
The Gomoa Dabenyi incident saw one driver and two passengers being shot by the robbers while the Gomoa Dominase incident saw passengers robbed of their valuables without any casualties. 
In the third incident that happened between Gomoa Dominse and Potsin passengers onboard commercial and private vehicles were also robbed with the last one happening at Apam Junction.
Interestingly these incidents happened within a spate of one week raising concerns from authorities.
In all, five Municipal and District assemblies which include Effutu Municipal Assembly, Agona West, Agona East, Gomoa East and West engaged in emergency MUSEC meetings together with security officials to find a lasting solution to the robberies on the stretch.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Effutu Alhaji Zubeiru Kassim, who chaired the meeting disclosed this in an interview with Soireenews.com at Winneba today.
For his part, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu constituency, Honourable Alexander Afenyo Markin who is the Deputy Majority leader has promised to support the Police with two pick up trucks during patrols and urged persons who live within Effutu to report suspected persons to police for action.
