“Such cases have come to our attention and with the help of the Kasoa district police command we have been able to apprehend him and through investigations, he has led police to retrieve eight of such vehicles. Some of them are Toyota corolla taxicabs, Hyundai Atos, Daewoo Matic cabs. They are all in the custody of the Suntreso District Police Command.

“He is currently in our custody assisting investigations. We know he is not alone; he has accomplices because the number of plates are not genuine. He has fixed different number plates which do not belong to that particular taxi cabs so we are appealing to victims of such cases to report to the district police command, Suntreso or places that have reported such cases so that the investigators can liaise with the Suntreso District police command to continue with the investigation.

“We are also appealing to the general public especially taxi drivers that they should be mindful of the passenger they pick and the juicy things that they tell them. Sometimes they fall prey easily to these passengers and then get their vehicles either snatched or stolen from them.

“We know with this success chalked well be able to get the other accomplices involved and then make sure they face the full rigors of the law.”
