Ashanti region: Chps compound Left To Rot As Nurses Refuse Posting.

A call on the government to complete and hand over  a Chps compound that is almost completed but left to rot to be operational.

Residents of Bonkruwa, a farming Community in the Ahafo Ano south east district of the Ashanti Region have called on government to complete and hand over  a Chps compound which is almost completed but left to rot to be operational.

Information gathered indicates that the abandoned Chps compound which was started under the erstwhile Mahama administration is left with installation of essential utilities and furnishing to be operational yet the Akufo Addo led government has abandoned it.

Information further indicates that the facility which is left with electricity, toilet facility, and staff to commence its operation is on the verge of rotting.

Residents say,  the absence of  health facility in the community is very worrisome to inhabitants.

According to them, When a community member is sick, they have to carry the person on a motorbike  before the person will be transported to either Sabronum or Mankranso government hospital for medication.

 Adding that fatalities is on rise due to the road network which  is in a deplorable state which makes it difficult for vehicles to ply", residents added.

Mr. Sumaila Ayama a security at the facility is worried over the delay of the commencement of the facility.

He appealed to government as well as the opinion leaders to assist with the completion of the facility for use.

Reacting to the Lighting issue, The assembly member for Aponaposo electoral area Honourable John Bosko stressed that he has been fighting for the past two years over the lighting issue but has been informed by the authority regarding the commencement of the project.

 "Nurses always reject working here due to the current state of the chps compound but we are working tirelessly towards completing the project",  the assembly member added.
