Ashanti Region celebrates Nana Addo's victory

The Member of Parliament -elect for Assin Central, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong has praised Asantes for their magnificent backing towards the New Patriotic Party for the victory obtained during the 2020 Elections.

According to him, the huge number of votes recorded in the Ashanti Region contributed to the triumph of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP government to continue serving the people of Ghana for four more years.

The Ashanti Region, a major stronghold of the incumbent NPP government obtained 1,795,824 votes out of the 2,700,805 voters and Honourable Kennedy Agyapong speaking on the Dialogue program on Net 2 on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, disclosed that although more than 1million people in the Region did not exercise their franchise due to few irregularities yet the stronghold carried the party on eagle’s wings.

“I congratulate Asantes for always been there for the NPP. In fact, they have continued to show that they love the NPP and must be applauded. In fact, almost 2 million votes recorded cancelled seven other regions which were of great influence to the party and I must admit, they deserve better.”

The MP-elect called on the President-Elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to involve Members of Parliament from the Ashanti Region when making his Ministerial appointments and attend to the plea of the people.

He advised the New Patriotic Party’s government to uphold and strengthen their stronghold before making further attempts to grab seats from the various constituencies.

“Ashanti Region deserves ministerial appointments this time and I encourage the President to attend to their pleas through developmental projects. It is time we strengthen our strongholds before anything. That is what Volta and Oti did. Regardless of anything the NPP did for them, they still voted massively for John Mahama,” he said.
