A/R: Fulani Herdsmen Resound Warning to ' Retaliate' over alleged Killing of their Members

A Fulani Welfare Group, Tabital Pulaaku International Ghana, has reiterated its intention to ‘fight back’ if authorities in the Ashanti Region fail to intervene to stop the human rights violation of Fulani Herdsmen at the Eseeteso area in the Mampong District.

The group in a petition to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensa on 27th July, noted that about 33 Fulani herdsmen have been killed in the area within 11 months.

The group, in the said petition, threatened a ‘bloody combat’ should the alleged killings of their members continue. An ultimatum of 21 days was given to the authorities (Ashanti regional minister and the regional police commander DCOP Kwasi Mensah Duku) to heed to their calls, or “they will start to advise themselves”.

However in a statement today, Tabital Pulaaku International Ghana, said so far, the authorities petitioned have turned a deaf ear to their plight, adding that, another Fulani Herdsman has been murdered.

They warned that they are sticking to the ’21 days ultimatum’ and will act thereafter.

“We still stand on our 21 days ultimatum from the date the petition was submitted, tension is very high within the Fulani community and we don’t want anything to escalate to bring down the peace that we are all enjoying in our country Or else if the cattle herdsmen advise themselves without the leadership, that is not going to be helpful”.
