A bullion Van has been attacked at Okyereko in the Gomoa East district of the central region at Winneba- Accra road.

The robbers shot the window side of the van where the police escort was sitting but none was injured.

According to Soireenews reporter, Alex Donkor, the police escort, subsequently ordered the driver to speed off while he called for reinforcement.

The case was reported to the Winneba police but the scene is under Gomoa Dominase command.

Soireenews is yet to receive the police's full information, but both commands have not yet brief the media on the accident.

The car has been sent to Accra and it's not seriously damaged with investigation ongoing.

This is the second time in a week where a bullion van has been hit following the death of Constable Emmanuel Osei who was on escort duty.

Two female staff of the financial institution whose money was being transported survived the attack with no injury but reports indicate that one of them while fleeing the scene was shot at and the bullet struck and killed a 35-year-old woman who was around the vicinity.

Some residents are now calling on Banks owners to provide Armour car for their service for the benefits of the security personnel.
