The Odikro of Okyerekrom in the Akrofuom District in the Ashanti Region, Nana Adyei Amoako Gyampa II is boiling with anger at Anglogold Ashanti (AGA) Obuasi mine.
 
 
The chief couldn't fathom why the gold mining company has abandoned its pit constructed without refilling it, resulting in killings of many innocent people in his community.
According to the chief, AGA has turned on death ears after the pit collapsed in 2012 posing threat on farmers who have their farm lands around the pit.
The pit, which has allegedly claimed 10 lives as of 2012 is a worry to the chief and the entire residents.
Addressing the press at Okyerekrom, the chief Nana Amoako gave a two-week ultimatum for AngloGold Ashanti to reclaim the pit or face their wrath.
Residents whose relatives have so far lost their lives  through the pit shared  their ordeal with the media.
