The renowned singer blamed lack of sincerity by key stakeholders as a significant setback for the business in a recent interview with RAJAB Media GH.

Despite Ghana's wealth of rhythms, she claimed, the country's music sector has lagged behind others like Nigeria and Senegal, where musicians are thriving in the void.

"When I visited the Seychelles, I heard music from various nations being played. Senegal, Mali, and Nigerian music were all audible. Why is Ghana not utilizing these rhythms is now the question.

Present, it appears that Nigerians are performing Highlife music even better than Ghanaians. Songs from Senegal and Mali sound a lot like the rhythms in the Northern region of Ghana if you pay attention to them.

"Then why are we in pain? I will continue to insist that the proper actions have not been taken, she said.

Similar to the film industry, the music industry's creatives have been complaining about its slow growth for a while now, and Akosua Adjepong's comments have further fueled their ire.

It's interesting to see that discussions concerning the music business and its future still grab the attention of industry leaders, especially now that Nigerian singers are performing at important international gatherings like the World Cup.
