In a statement, the foreign affairs ministry said that it had "learned with deep dismay" of the deaths of its citizens at the International University of Africa.

There are evidence that the airstrikes were "carried out by the regular army on an area occupied by civilian and unarmed populations, including foreign nationals," according to Minister Christophe Lutundula.

The minister stated that the country was awaiting additional information on the incident from the Sudanese authorities.

Since April 15th, Khartoum has been the scene of intense combat between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with civilians being caught in the crossfire.

The government of the DR Congo has requested a humanitarian corridor so that it may remove its injured citizens and other people who are still stuck in Khartoum.
