Agenda 111 processing steadily in Bolga East

The ‘Agenda 111’ Project in the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region is processing steadily, and expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

The project is part of the Akufo-Addo-led-government's initiative to construct hospitals in Districts across the country without hospitals to improved access to quality health delivery.

The ongoing project, which is 40 percent complete, is located at Kantaga, a community in the District, and when completed, would have  male, female, children and surgical wards, pharmacy and laboratory units, administration block, physiotherapy department, mortuary, laundry among others Departments.

Honourable Stephen Yakubu, the Upper East Regional Minister who visited the construction site as part of his scheduled working visit to all 15 Municipalities and Districts, expressed delight about the progress of work.

He assured residents in the District that government would ensure  that resources were made  available to complete the project on schedule.

The Regional Minister appealed to residents to desist from  actions that may delay the progress of work, and allow the Contractor to work in order to meet the deadline.

He said the facility, when completed, would serve all Ghanaians irrespective of their political affiliation, and noted that “When you are sick, it doesn't matter which political party you belong to.”

The Bolgatanga East District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. David Akolgo Amoah  said the completed project would relief residents of the struggles they went through to access health care delivery in the District.

He said the project was dear to the hearts of residents as there were only Health  Centres, which could not manage some health conditions dotted  around the entire District, as most health cases were usually referred out of the District.

Honourable Amoah used the opportunity to appeal to landlords  to readily release lands to attract government projects and development to the District.
