A teenage football player from Ghana who plays in the Zimbabwean league has shared his heartbreaking tale of how hard it is for him to make ends meet there.

The footballer, who has been identified as Dela Akorli, is stuck in Zimbabwe and has asked for help after being left behind by Bulawayo Chiefs to the point where he is unable to buy food.

The 19-year-old Ghanaian center forward is stranded in Bulawayo since he doesn't even have money for a journey home, and he described the situation as a nightmare.

Della's contract with Amakhosi expires on December 31, 2022, according to the story, which was originally made public by MyNewsGH.

Akorli has not received payment alongside the rest of the team in months due to the Chiefs' poor financial situation, which is even endangering the club's very existence.

"Since we finished the league, I didn't have any cash on me to even purchase lunch or a data bundle. It has been quite difficult for me because I have no amusement at home.

"I was unable to see the most recent World Cup. My life has been incredibly difficult," he continued.

Arkoli says he was having difficulties paying his rent up until a teammate offered him sanctuary in his Bulawayo flat.

The Amakhosi striker claims that in order to retrieve his money and return to Ghana, he has engaged the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ).

Arkoli stated, "I want to return home because the stress I have experienced this season with this team (Chiefs) is too much for me.

According to additional evidence from Soccer24, a Bulawayo Chiefs executive has bought Arkoli jet tickets to depart the country without paying him the money he is owed in an effort to limit the damage.
