The ongoing Wenchi town roads project is estimated to be completed by May 6, 2022.

The project is a Government of Ghana project, lobbied by the then Municipal Chief Executive Dr. Prince Kwakye Afriyie and former Minister for Planning and MP for Wenchi Prof George spearheaded by the Municipal Assembly.

Addressing the media when the Bono Regional Minister, Justina Owusu Banahene inspected the project, the contractor and CEO of PMC Africa Limited Alhaji PMC noted that work is far advanced on the road and is the project will by May 6 be ready for use to harness transportation.

The road when completed would also enhance economic and business activities in the area.

Alhaji PMC added that as part of his corporate social responsibility, he would also construct a roundabout that comes at a free cost to the state. According to him, this is a means to give back to society.

He further pledged his support to the green Ghana agenda as he intends to plant 1000 coconut trees to beautify the town and protect the environment.

Alhaji PMC called on benevolent Ghanaians to emulate the gesture. He again urged local contractors to prioritize quality work over shoddy to ensure national development.

The Regional Minister, Justina Owusu Banahene who was enthused about the ongoing project and the intention of the contractor to construct a free roundabout for the Municipality commended him for his patriotism.

She was hopeful that the completion date would be met so the people can benefit.
