70yrs Old Queen Mother And 3 Others Jailed As NPP Lawyer Obiri Boahen Wins In Court

70 years old Queen Mother for Nsoatre Nana Yaa Asuama Kesse and three others have been jailed by the courts for contempt after enstooling someone as a chief.

New Patriotic Party's Nana Obiri Boahen waved the flag of victory after he won the case in the Sunyani High Court.

Explaining the process to the media, it was revealed that, the 70 years old Queen Mother and her accomplice enstooled a new chief for the Nsoatre township contrary to the order of the High Court pending justification.

The convicted personalities were Nana Yaa Asuama Kesse who is the Queen Mother, Nana Obeng Effah Kokodufo who is the Nifahene, the enstooled chief Nana Adjei Korang, Nana Amoah Appiah, and Nana Amankwaa Appiah. 

Most of them were jailed 15 days in jail by the Sunyani High Courts. Initially, the Traditional Council had Restrained anybody from calling himself a Chief from Nsoatre. It later emerged that the Queen Mother tried to defy traditions to enstool one young man called Foster Korang.

Initially, the action of the Queen Mother had brought disturbances in the Nsoatre community. After the release of the jailed personalities, Sunyani High Court shall continue with the trial of the substantive case. NPP's Nana Obiri Boahen will still lead the case.
