22-year-old lady killed by a hit-and-run driver at Sefwi Atronsu

Residents of Sefwi Atronsu, a suburb of Sefwi Bekwai in the Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region were in a state of shock when a lady by name, Regina Anarfi, a hotel attendant after closing from work, around 6:50 pm was crushed to death on the roadside from Atronsu to Bibiani highway.

According to Sefwi Bekwai District Police Command, the family of the deceased came to the police station exactly 7:00 pm, Sunday evening to report the case that an unknown vehicle has crashed two persons but one managed to escape death and unfortunately Regina Anarfi (22) a.k.a Maame Baa couldn't survive and was rushed to hospital for treatment but pronounced dead on arrival.

The residents who got to the scene could not identify the suspected hit-and-run driver but the police have assured the family and the public of working assiduously to look for the whereabouts of the man who allegedly committed the crime.

"I was walking with her by the roadside to buy something. I heard a voice shout and as I turned to see what was going on, we were smashed by the car," the deceased uncle told.

"In fact, I couldn't stand when people came nearby so they made me rest. As I became conscious, I saw them put the body of Maame Baa in a car," 

The body has been deposited at Sefwi Anhwianso Mortuary for preservation.
