According to the political stakesholders in Akwatia, their assessments within the various electoral areas of the constituency indicates that the constituents irrespective of their political affiliations have declared their unflinching support for Mr Koney.

Parliamentary candidate hopeful in the Akwatia Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region, Mr Erasmus Ali Koney commonly known as Asanka Poyooyo has been widely tipped as a prefer choice for the members and supporters of the party including the youth, market folks, farmers, students and traditional to win NDC primary in the yet-to-be organized election and subsequently lead the NDC to retain Akwatia seat in the 2024 general election.
According to the political stakesholders in Akwatia, their assessments within the various electoral areas of the constituency indicates that the constituents irrespective of their political affiliations have declared their unflinching support for Mr Koney.
In this regard, they stated that it is a high for the delegates and members would be casting their votes in the NDC parliamentary candidate primary to consider these outstanding  recognition given to Mr Koney thereby voting for him to win the race.
According to them, their investigations within the constituency have revealed that the NDC
Akwatia constituency needs someone like Erasmus Ali Koney who can capture both parliamentary seat and increase the votes of the presidential as well. 
"We need someone like Erasmus Ali Koney who represents the voice of the street, affable, energetic, vibrant and can give hope to the teeming youth, will be the perfect choice. 
"We seeing beyond the primary elections because what shall it profit a parliamentary candidate to win primaries and can not  capture both parliamentary and executive power. 
In short, let’s vote a parliamentary candidate who can win both parliamentary elections and executive power…In all these, we need a true politician with good energy and vibrancy. And that Erasmus Ali Koney stands a better chance to do so for us," they stated.
They pointed out that An unexamined life is not worth living’-Socrates, adding that the  time has come for we the true comrades of the NDC, delegates and people of Akwatia constituency to do self assessments of the decisions of yesterday and see if it has fully benefited us."
"The time has come again for us to correct some wrongs and rewrite the story. 
"The upcoming parliamentary elections will not only determine the fate of our constituency but also the overall aim of capturing the executive power,' they noted.
They indicated that one therefore has to be circumspect in making such a crucial decision.
Meanwhile, Mr Koney called for a united front to retain Akwatia parliamentary seat in the general elections 2024.
He stressed that the current political character assassination, sabotaging, and backbiting practiced by some supporters and followers of his main challenger is not in the interest of the party.
He, therefore, urged the few disgruntled members and supporters of the party to bury their differences and join forces with him to work hard to retain the Akwatia constituency parliamentary seat for the NDC.
He stated categorically that he is ever eady to serve not to be served.
Against this back ground, the young outspoken politician is confident of winning the NDC parliamentary primaries in the constituency in the yet-to-be organized election and subsequently lead the NDC to retain the parliamentary seat in the 2024 general election.
 
According to him, this has been premised on the fact that he has been working in tandem with the polling stations and constituency executives of the party to really understand the social and infrastructure development projects in their communities.
"I am the only parliamentary hopeful who is ever eady to serve not to be served. I hope that the various delegates and members of the NDC who would be voting that day would give me more votes than what l am expecting 
"I have already marketed myself enough through the number of the development works l have undertaken in the various electoral areas in the past years before l have even decided to enter into the parliamentary candidate race. I have excellent working relationship of my party people, youths and traditional leaders who are yearning for me to come and rescue them from their economic challenges," the Akwatia Darling noted.
Mr Koney mentioned that "l am an exceptional and rare individual with a comparatively wide frame of mind, my personality endowed me with a natural sense of leadership, having done a lot for society as well as my political party, my vast achievements attest to my selflessness, forthrightness, sacrificial, and sincerity of purpose."
