ASD charges Coordinating Directors to Protect the Purse of Assemblies

A Techiman based Civil Society Organization, Alliance for Sustainable Development and Participatory Governance (ASDAPG) has charged all Coordinating Directors to firmly protect their various Assemblies from being looted by MMDCEs.

The organization believes some Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives are in the process of looting the Assembly by forging documents of some stores and other properties of the Assembly into their personal property.

This they believe is a result of the fact that such MMDCEs are very much aware that they will not retain their offices for a second term.

Speaking with the Executive Director of Alliance for Sustainable Development and Participatory Governance - Nana Korang Antwi Boasiako, he revealed that after several failed attempts of lobbying at the Jubilee House to be retained as the Chief Executives of their various Assemblies, these MMDCEs have resulted in backdating records of stocks at the Assembly to capture items such as sewing machines, hand driers, shaving machines, street bulbs etc. meant to be distro to the less privilege and vulnerable as being already distributed while they are actually yet to be distributed to the beneficiaries.

He challenged all Coordinating Directors to take a keen interest in these allegations and tighten security at the Assemblies to prevent some of these selfish politicians from looting the state as they prepare to hand over.

Nana Korang further called on His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to announce his MMDCEs to fast track development in the communities as he believes that the delay in appointing the MMDCEs is also delaying development in the country.

He appealed to the First Gentleman of the Land to make his appointment based on what the grassroots supporters are championing if they really want to "break the 8"
