Norwich City humbled the Champions, Man City by 3-2 on the late Saturday kickoff at Carrow Road.

Four enforced changes were made by Daniel Farke; Max Aarons, Christoph Zimmermann, Tom Trybull and Moritz Leitner were all missing for the Canaries. Sam Byram, Ibrahim Amadou, Kenny McLean and Alexander Tettey were added to their ranks, although the doubts over Tim Krul clearly stood with both Ralph Fahrmann and Michael McGovern on the bench.

Pep Guardiola started John Stones to partner Nicholas Otamendi in defense in place of injured Laporte. He was probably suspecting it, as Manchester City are now down to their last two centre-backs.

Norwich became the first team to lead against Manchester City in the 18-minute through McLean. The defender run across from the middle and powered a header past Ederson.

The Citizens orchestrated an all-attacking game and pounced on the home side for the leveler. Raheem Sterling was missing in action after every move he made was handled superbly by Byram and Tettey.

The Canaries doubled the lead 10 minutes after the first goal. Krul looked long to Buendia and flicked the ball away from Gundogan. He spotted Pukki and played on the shoulder with a lovely pass. He run with the ball to the edge of the box and does well to deliver a curling pass on the far side, making no mistake, Todd Cantwell tapped the ball into goal.

Kyle Walker petitioned the referee for an offside but his quest was overruled. David Silva later lifted the ball to the back post from deep. Bernardo headed it across goal and an unmarked Sterling thumped it against the post.

Sam Byram’s first Premier League start since April 2018 saw him put up a remarkable performance for Norwich on the night against a roaring City side.

Man City intensified their pressing against Norwich City and pulled a goal back. Rodrigo pushed Norwich with the ball and linked play over to the left. Bernardo Silva got half a yard and whipped in a ball which Aguero glanced into the far corner in the 45-minute.

Five minutes into the second half, Pukki scored his sixth goal in his first premier league appearance. John Stones played the ball across the backline to Otamendi. The Argentine had no idea that Buendia was closing him down. He robbed Otamendi of the ball and slipped it across to Pukki. The Finish poked ball past rushing Ederson.

Guardiola brought on De Bruyne and Jesus for Gundogan and David Silva in the 57-minute. The pressure was ramped up from the visitors but Norwich threw every boot and leg on the line to keep them out. The fans kept roaring every tackle and block made by the Canaries.

Rodri pulled another goal back after receiving a pass from Gabriel Jesus. He fired low into the net 20 yards through a sea of yellow shirts in the bottom corner. The Canaries with an interconnected defensive play prevented a late drama as they tirelessly secured their post to prevent City from levelling.

The game ended after four minutes of additional time.
