Philippe Coutinho is likely to be offloaded at a cheaper price to interested clubs rather than returning to Barcelona according to reports.

The former Liverpool player after a season in Barca left for Bayern Munich on loan after failing to impress following his fine form from the Premier League which engineered a fee of around £105 million, which could have risen to £142 million with various clauses being met.

Barca reached an agreement with Bayern last season for a loan move and the deal included a 120m euro purchase option yet with injuries hampering the progress of the ‘little magician’ the Bundesliga giants are reported not willing to trigger the clause.

Barcelona still owe 75m euros in amortization fees and they are aware that they may not be able to make a profit from his possible sale since no team is willing to pay such a huge amount for the Brazilian.

The most feasible scenario for the moment is for Barcelona to loan the Brazilian out for another season, as he is currently earning around 13m euros per year.

With several clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, looking for the signature of Coutinho, none will be willing to buy him at such cost and go ahead to provide his hefty weekly wage. There would have to be a reduction.

In the summer of 2021, amortization fees will have dropped to around 50m euros and a profit could be made from a potential sale.

The Premier League is a possible future destination for Coutinho, who spent his most productive seasons in England with Liverpool.
