Another EX NNPC GMD, Dawha, Has died

Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha, the former Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has passed away after a brief illness.

He was the 16th Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). His death was announced by his spokesman, Kennie Obateru.

The current NNPC GMD, Mele Kyari, expressed his shock at the sudden death of his predecessor. He stated that the NNPC family will be in a state of deep reflection after the terrible event as Dawha provided a template for all other leaders.

"The NNPC family regrets to announce the passing away of Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha, GMD NNPC 2014- 2015 after a brief illness. We remember his astute leadership and immense contributions to the progress of the Corporation. It’s a great loss to us, the nation and the family," he said.

 

 

In a bizarre series of events, Dawha is now the second former NNPC GMD to die in the last three months after the Immediate past NNPC GMD, Maikantu Baru, died on May 29, 2020.

Dawha was GMD of NNPC between August 2014 and August 2015. His death is a great loss to the entire nation.
