Zidane has specified that Erling Haaland is the type of player he wishes to sign in the future.

The 20-year old goal-scoring record keeps astounding and has been linked with a move away from Germany, months after signing a four-year contract with Dortmund worth €20 million.

Real Madrid have been speculated to be interested in the no. 9 who could replace 32-year-old Karim Benzema when his current contract runs out in 2022. The Frenchman will be 33 years then and would prefer a move away from Spain to seek greener pastures.

Having scored 51 goals in 48 matches for club and country, Zidane has remarked that Haaland he is a talented player who can lead Madrid’s attacking line yet refused to talk much about him for the respect he has for Dortmund.

Teaming up during the international break with Martin Odegaard, Norway secured a heavy victory against Romania as many suggested that the 20-year old will be a perfect addition to the Madrid line up.

"Martin played a little differently, in a line of four [in a 4-4-2 system]," Zidane said during Friday's pre-match press conference. "Haaland is not my player, but he is good. What can I say?

When asked whether there is an iota of rumour in Madrid’s pursuit of Mbappe, who made a public declaration about his admiration for Ronaldo and Luka Modric during the international break, the manager dismissed the details and spoke on the squad at hand to defend their title.

"No, this has always happened," he said. There are always a lot of rumours and I am not just talking about Mbappe. It will not affect our group, but as you know it is over because the market has closed and we have this group to fight until the end."

Los Blancos will play Cadiz on Saturday in the Laliga.
