Gini Wijnaldum is waiting for the Reds to renew his contract Liverpool as a new season looms.

Sky Sports reported that the former Magpies player’s representatives have prompted Liverpool on the midfielder’s contract, which is approaching its final stage.

The Dutch international signed a five-year contract worth of £25 million with Liverpool which ends in 2021and is expecting a renewal before the current deal runs out.

Gini has been versatile in Liverpool’s midfield following Liverpool’s successes in the last two seasons, winning the Premier League and Champions League with the Reds.

The 29-year old has made 179 appearances in the Premier League since joining the Merseyside club, scoring 25 goals and providing 16 assists.
