Wenchi: queen mother implores citizens to be law abiding 

The Paramount Queen-mother of Wenchi, Nana Otonsuo Antoa Sramangya - Dua III has called on the citizenry to be law-abiding and respect the laws of the country.  The Queen-mother strongly cautioned citizens, particularly, the youth against the practice of taking the law into their own hands to vandalize and cause destruction to lives and property.  According to her, the traditional upbringing does not support lawlessness.

The Paramount Queen-mother of Wenchi, Nana Otonsuo Antoa Sramangya - Dua III has called on the citizenry to be law-abiding and respect the laws of the country. 

The Queen-mother strongly cautioned citizens, particularly, the youth against the practice of taking the law into their own hands to vandalize and cause destruction to lives and property.
 According to her, the traditional upbringing does not support lawlessness.
 She said, “the practice defied common sense and logic and disturbed the peace of the country”.
 This, she emphasized causes fear and panic and stifles the development and progress of a town.

The Queen-mother charged the Regional Minister to ensure that law enforcement agencies enforce the laws of the land to the latter without fear or favor, to maintain law and order, and protect and sustain the peace of the area.
 Nanahemmaa Antoa Sramangya- Dua also urged the Minister to investigate and bring closure to some sensitive outstanding security matters creating tension in the quiet.

She indicated that Wenchi was always noted for peace and development with unity of purpose.

The Queen-mother made the call when the Bono Regional Minister Justina Owusu Yaa Banahene paid a courtesy call on her during an official working visit to the Wenchi Municipality.

In response, the Regional Minister assured the Queen-mother and the people of adequate security and enhanced surveillance to forestall any unforeseen circumstance in the Region. 

On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive Alexander Obour Damoah pledged his commitment to ensuring peace in the Municipality.
