The Wenchi High Court has slapped the National Democratic Congress with a punitive cost of GHc4,000 at the case management conference of the Techiman South Parliamentary Elections Petition.

The NDC's Techiman South Parliamentary Candidate for the 2020 elections, Christopher Bayere Baasongti, sued the Member of the Techiman South Constituency, Honourable Martin Adjei-Menaah Korsah and the Electoral Commission.

Christopher Bayere prayed to the court to quash the declaration by the E.C which makes Honourable Martin the winner of the 2020 Techiman South Parliamentary elections.

Christopher Bayere Baasongti and his team initial based their suit on the fact that there was no collation of the Parliamentary elections but as time goes by, the NDC team, filed a motion to change their suit from " no collation to no proper collation" was done at the collation centre after the 2020 parliamentary elections.

At the case management sitting, the court partially granted the petitioner's motions to amend the title of his suit however, the petitioner was slapped with an initial punitive cost of GHc7,000.00 but was later reduced to GHc4,000.0p after series of legal arguments for delaying court proceedings.

The 2020 election Campaign Manager for the New Patriotic Party, Peter Mac Manu, who was present during the court hearing after the proceedings, said the NDC is deliberately trying to slow down the court process.
