Drivers in Goaso of Ahafo Region have called on the government of Ghana to find solutions to stop the rampant increment in fuel prices.

Citing the recent surge in the price of the fuel at the pump, the drivers indicated that authorities do have a responsibility to put in measures to halt the surge in fuel prices

According to Drivers, within a space of one-month fuel prices have spiked from ¢4.670 to ¢5.10 per litre.

The drivers said they feel neglected because the government of Ghana has not done anything to stop the fuel prices from ascending.

They further complained that despite the hikes in fuel prices the government of Ghana has caged them from increasing transport fares the situation they said is killing their business as a lot of their money is being consumed by fuel. The situation they described as “unfair.”

The drivers however warned that "we are giving the government a few weeks to reduce the fuel prices or we will automatically increase our fares and any hindrance will cause a massive demonstration by drivers."
