Eric Choupo-Moting’s only goal levelled the aggregates to 3-3 but the away goal advantage sailed Paris Saint Germain through to the semi-finals of the Champions League in a thrilling encounter against Bayern Munich.

PSG had the best chance of the match so in the 27-minute from a typically lightning-paced counterattack as Di María searched out Mbappé on the left. The striker burst inside the penalty area before having the composure to roll a pass to the unmarked Neymar in front of goal, but Manuel Neuer raced out and flung himself at his feet to thwart the shot.

Bayern started to turn the screws and put the pressure on the hosts until Neymar almost fetched the opener for PSG. The Brazilian produced a beguiling turn near the edge of the penalty area on the left before curling an exquisite shot over Neuer and on to the crossbar.

Eric Chupo Moting scored for Bayern in the 40-minute to make it back to back against his former side in the competition.

Bayern burst down the left, where the ever-dangerous Alaba was denied at close range by Navas after being found by a quick-witted first-time Müller pass. The goalkeeper cannot fully claim the ball, which spun up towards Choupo-Moting, almost on the line. The forward rose athletically, beating Kimpembe and noded in the ball.

Bayern fought in the second half but failed to take their chances as PSG edged past them to the semi-finals of the competition.
