Twifo Ati-Morkwa District NIA Office Not Shutdown DCE Debunks Allegation
The Twifo Ati-Morkwa District National Identification Authority (NIA) Office in the Central Region has not been shut down due to non-payment of electricity bills.
According to the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi, the attention of Twifo Ati-Morkwa District Assembly has been drawn to a forgery allegations circulating on some media platforms that, the district office for NIA has been closed down due to non-payment of electricity bill and the entire environment has turned to a refused dump and people littering the environment.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com yesterday,  Mr. Nyantakyi debunked the said allegations.
He explained that, though the electricity connection at the facility has been disconnected due to the former NIA boss unavailability to pay for the accumulated electricity components of about GH¢5,000.00 given to him by his pay Masters during the general Ghana Card registration conducted where the NIA used that same office for the exercises.
He pointed out that the said boss has passed on, but the assembly has put things together for the payment of the bill, but current officers at the center depend on the generator hence the office has not been Shut Down as circulating in the airwaves.
He said the office has been working since its permanent establishment and again the environment has not been filtered as published.
He described the facility as one of the best facilities in the district where everyone would like to work there and described the publication as a forgery.
When visited the center we saw the officers busily working and a lot of people (clients) around doing their registration and they also confirmed that the office has been operating since its existence.
