Toyota Bus Crushes Motor Rider to Death at Peduase

The Body of the deceased motor rider has been deposited in the same hospital’s mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

A Toyota Hiace bus has knocked down a motor rider to death on Peduase and Ketase road in the Akuapem South District Assembly of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Information reaching Soiree News Eastern Regional Correspondent has revealed that at about 1:05 pm on August 7, 2021, suspect driver Amako Ebenezer, 24, was steering a Toyota Hiace commercial bus with registration number  GS 5999-19 from  Accra to Lateh with 14 passengers on board.

However, on reaching Peduase, whilst overtaking a leading vehicle he crashed into a Royal motorbike with registration  M-19-NR 6147 being ridden by Mumuni Yakubu, 52, from the opposite direction.

The victim got injured and was rushed to Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Mampong Akuapim for treatment but was pronounced dead soon on arrival.

The Body has been deposited in the same hospital’s mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The police have impounded the accident vehicle and the motorbike

Additionally, the suspect driver, Amako Ebenezer was detained at the Aburi police station to assist in the investigation with the Aburi District accident Squad in charge, Sargent Louis Owusu Ansah.

The suspect is expected to appear in court today.
