Although it wasn't the only reason, Nana Yaa says her friend Captain Smart had a part in her departure from Angel FM.

In an interview with Blakk Rasta on 3FM today, February 5, 2024, Nana Yaa Brefo revealed the reasons behind her departure from Angel FM.

She claims that she didn't leave Angel FM for financial gain, but rather because she was denied the chance to pursue certain opportunities.

She expressed her desire to work so hard that, at the end of the day, she could satisfy her supervisors, herself, and her listeners, but she never got that opportunity.

She says she wanted to use her platform to discuss about current events, but she was never given permission to do so.

She continued by saying that there were moments when she really wanted to connect with her audience, but her managers prevented her from doing so.

Money is not the issue. I am aware that you would likewise conclude that the explanation is something you are unable to accept. It has to do with the work. You're eager to work. Your goal is to win over people. Your goal is self-satisfaction. You feel compelled to work with a specific space and be authentic, but that isn't happening. No matter what, you never achieve the satisfaction. Regardless of how much money they offer you, she said.

"You would like to connect with the individuals. You would want to talk openly about what is going on in Ghana, and since you are a morning person, you would want to talk about it in the morning. If that doesn't work out, you should take action, she continued.

She asserts that despite their best efforts, her supervisors were unable to prevent her from quitting, but she had already decided to proceed.

According to Nana Yaa Brefo, all attempts to persuade her to reverse her decision by enlisting the help of friends, coworkers, and other supporters failed.

“They were not happy. I wanted to leave way back before the 1st December that I wrote the letter. They called and tried to get me to rescind my decision and they got my colleagues involved and all that but I think I had already made my decision”, she said.
