The husband of Afua Asantewaa, the online star, Mr. Kofi Owusu Aduonum, has recommended that the minister of tourism honor and recognize his wife.

According to Mr. Owusu, his wife has effectively promoted Ghana and the Akwaaba village around the world, resulting in a large number of people becoming aware of these locations.

The husband of Afua Asantewaa feels that many people would not have heard of Ghana and the Akwaaba community if it weren't for his wife's attempt at a sing-a-thon.

He says there's no need to change the name of Akwaaba village; but, the tourism minister may name a location within the village after his wife, like Afua Asantewaa's stage or Afua Asantewaa's corner.

"While I believe it is about time we honored my wife, Asantewaa, I also think Akwaaba Village is a great name. Mr. Kofi Owusu Aduonum spoke boldly, "They should give her space, maybe Asantewaa's stage or Asantewaa's corner."

Mr. Kofi Owusu Aduonum confidently responded, "Many people from diverse locations know about his wife's sing-a-thon attempt, the country she did it in, and the venue. However, many people do not know exactly where the event took place, so this would serve as a tourist site where people would go there just to see where his wife performed," when asked why he thought they should give his wife a space within the Akwaaba village.

It will function as a tourist attraction. Those who saw it on television will go there and know where the woman performed whenever they visit Accra. Although it is a personal request, Mr. Kofi Owusu Aduonum continued, "I think it should be taken into consideration."
