According to them, the alleged sand winners who has recently pave way in the area have entered into the only source of living cocoa farms in the community and have uprooted over thousands of cocoa trees because they want to pave way for sand winning in the area.

Residents of Abijan Nkwanta in the Afigya Kwabre North District of the Ashanti Region are calling on government through the Ministry of Food and agriculture to come to their aid as sand winners in the district have destroyed over 2000 Cocoa plants in the community.
According to them, the alleged sand winners who has recently pave way in the area have entered into the only source of living cocoa farms in the community and have uprooted over thousands of cocoa trees because they want to pave way for sand winning in the area.
Abijan Nkwanta is a farming community in the Afigya Kwabre North District with  a population of about 2000 residents and farming is their major work.
Speaking to Sikka FM monitored by Soireenews.com the visibly worried residents disclosed that,the sand winners have destroyed their one and only deplorable road in the area which to them is going to affect their standard of living in the community.
"We are calling on the Boamang Police Commander and the District Chief Executive Mr Karikari Acheamfour as a matter of urgency  to come to our aid before these sand winners collapse our community.
All our foodstuffs have been destroyed by the sand winners and if care is not taken we will all leave this community."---residents mourn
They revealed that Abijan Nkwanta community produce over 5,000 bags of cocoa beans in every cocoa season to government.
They are therefore appealing to government and other stockholders to intervene before the worse thing happens in the community.
If government fails to intervene then they are going to embarked on massive demonstration against the government and the sand winners in the area.
