As reported by Soireenews.com yesterday Thursday 27th, 2022 about the five-car snatching syndicates' appearance to the Tamale Circuit Court Today Friday.

The five out of the six syndicates at today's hearing presided over by his Lordship Alexandra Oworae have been sentenced to fifteen years each (15) in prison for snatching a Toyota Camry car from its owner at Jonshegu, a community in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region.

Their stay in prison will, therefore, run concurrently, hence they will not spend the exact fifteen days in prison.

The convicts pleaded guilty to the various charges before the open court.

The convicted persons were charged with five counts which include conspiracy to robbery, possession of firearms and ammunition without lawful authority, and possession of police and military accouterments.

The convicts are Seyram Addo, 29, Ibrahim Issah 27, Mohammed Mustapha, 23, Vivor Christopher 27, Benyamin Ajyei, 23.

Alhassan Mohammed, another syndicate who has been accused of being an informant to the robbery pleaded not guilty and has been remanded in prison custody to reappear on 9th February 2022.

The six syndicates were arrested in Buipe in the Savannah Region by the police for allegedly snatching a car from its owner at Jonshegu, a suburb of Tamale late in the night.

The police retrieved a G3 rifle with a magazine loaded with 16 rounds of ammunition, a pistol, several military uniform, money, gloves, military caps, two military scarfs, a catapult, a coil of cellotape, and military ID cards from the suspects
