SHS Finalists to Take “Ghana Exams” Six Weeks after June 22 – Education Minister

Final year Senior High School (SHS) students in Ghana are scheduled to write their exit exams six weeks after reporting to school on June 22.

The Education Minister, Matthew Opoku-Prempeh who disclosed this said, the examinations will span across five weeks after the tutoring period.

“They will be there for academic work and revision for six weeks do their West Africa Examination Council, the Ghana exams that we understand will take five weeks,” Dr. Opoku-Prempeh said.

He said the Ghana office of WAEC has been consulted to set the papers specific to the country.

The Minister’s updates follow easing of restrictions on educational institutions across the country by President Akufo-Addo’s on Sunday, May 31, 2020.

The president gave the green-light for schools to reopen final year students as he announced the first phase of eased COVID-19 restrictions.
