SENE EAST: MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATION AND DIGITALIZATION TRAINED 30 GIRLS IN ICT

Ministry of Communication and Digitalization with its agencies such as GIFEC, and Kofi Annan IT Center have trained over 30 girls students from various basic schools in the Sene East District of the Bono East region in ICT.

They were trained for five days.

During the climax of Girls-in-ICT, the representative of the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization who is also a lecturer at Kofi Annan IT Center Madam Mawutor Dwomoh Lucky stated that the students were taken through coding which give trainees the opportunity to explore the world of technology through the creation of websites, computer games, interactive arts, mobile apps, and animation stories, using various programming languages.

She said the project was part of strategies to ensure that Ghana achieves the Sustainable Development Goal five.

It was under the theme: "Access  and safety"

On his part the district chief Executive for Sene East, Honorable. Kofi Gyimah also commended the government for introducing such a program. He said it will help the students to gain more knowledge about the uses of computers.

Finally, some of the participants (students) also commended the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization and its agencies for the wonderful training.

According to them, they can now use the computer to do a lot of things on their own as compared to previous days.
