Bono Regional Minister and Sunyani Municipal Cheif Executive Commissions Sunyani Methodist Technical Institute Workshop. 

The Bono Regional Minister Honourable Justina Awo Banahene together with Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive Honourable Ansu Kumi has today  1st July 2022 commissioned the Sunyani Methodist Technical Institute (SMTI) workshop constructed by the President Nana Akufo Addo-led government. 

The commissioning ceremony which was part of th School Students Representative Council (SRC) week celebration saw the students the opportunity from now to make use of an ultra-modern workshop facility constructed under the Government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.

Honorablestina Owusu Banahene emphasized that the workshop which is the first of the kind in the Bono region has been opened at the time teachers and students will make judicious use of the edifice to enrich their knowledge and realize their vision and dreams in life.

She added that the government has invested hugely in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) in the country and therefore urged the student body to take advantage of the institute to acquire the necessary skills needed for the benefit of ety and the country. 

The Regional Minister reiterated that the MCE should try to do his best to help connect Sunyani Automobile center (Magazine) to collaborate with the School Authorities to have the facility to their advantage as the multipurpose workshop can serve so many areas with a modern electronic oven for car spraying among others.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in his speech encouraged the student to not downplay their studies because the government thinks of the technical and vocational students thus why green light has been given to the expansion of TVET in the country hence prioritizing the sector as the engine to nation-building.  

The two leaders were happy to witness the school SRC week celebration and also honored president Nana Akuffo Addo for selecting the Bono region as part of the 36 heavy multipurpose workshops project in the country and for that matter, Methodist Technical Institute was fortunate in having this huge infrastructure to aids in its academics and practical studies. 

 The MCE Honourable Kumi finally called on the school to also protect the facility for the benefit of the next generation as Technical Education is seen as the path for the country's growth
