Nelson Semedo has bid Barcelona fans farewell following his 35m euros move to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.

 

 

The right wing-back penned a three-year contract, which will see him compete in England until 2023 with an option to extend it to June 2025.

"Thank you very much Barcelona for giving me the dream of wearing this shirt," the full-back wrote on social media.

"Thank you for making me grow as a player and as a person.

"I've had three wonderful years that I won't forget.

"I want to thank my teammates, the staff, the fans and all the people who have helped me from the moment I arrived until today."

The Portuguese played 42 times for Barcelona last term, providing six assists and scoring on the last day of the season against Alaves back in July.

He has ten major honours to his name within his three seasons at the Nou Camp, where he impressed in La Liga and the Champions League.

He spoke that joining Wolves was influenced by their European performance and the impact of the manager.

“I chose Wolves because it’s a very good team that plays very good football," Semedo told the club's website. "Last year they did a very good season and it’s a very important team in England, in also Europe. I hope this year we can do very good things.

“Coach Nuno is a very good coach. He did very good things here in Wolves, and in other teams too. For sure I’m going to learn a lot from him.”

Nelson Semedo could make his debut in the Premier League against West Ham United on Sunday.
