School building collapsed during class hours at Mensahkrom.

He took the opportunity to plea with inhabitants to exercise patience as they commence the reconstruction of school buildings within the area.

It was a bad day for the school pupils and teaching staff of Mensahkrom, a community in the Ayensuano constituency of the Eastern Region.

The basic class 4 building which is made up of palm trees and a wooden structure collapsed while teaching and learning were ongoing. 

As part of a commitment to renovate the school, Hon. Teddy Addii went round with artisans over the weekend to purchase materials needed for the reconstruction and renovation of the collapsed school structures swiftly.

Hon. Teddy Safari Addii stressed that although no child had suffered an injury in an environment meant to keep them safe for learning and other recreational activities but there is the need for swift reconstruction to make teaching and learning attractive in the area. 

"The constituency has several dilapidated structures scattered all over the ground, and we must not wait for another such incident to occur before we do what is in the best interest of the country’s future", the MP said.

He took the opportunity to plea with inhabitants to exercise patience as they commence the reconstruction of school buildings within the area.

Some residents had earlier on expressed worry regarding the state of school in the area which compels some kids to be lured into farming and other activities in the area which is a worry.

They however believe that a swift renovation would be done as pledged by their member of Parliament Honourable Teddy Safari  Addii to enhance education in the area and the entire constituency as a whole.

The kids are currently learning under temporal structure and classroom created by the authority pending permanent classroom blocks.
