Nuno Espirito Santo has updated on the recovery process of Rui Patricio, who was knocked out during Wolves defeat to Liverpool Monday night at the Molineux.

The manager has told that the 33-year old Portuguese is awake and remembers what led to his collision and his situation is being assessed by doctors to get him to recovery.

The goalkeeper needed 14 minutes to receive treatment on the field after his accidental collision with defender, Conor Coady in the latter part of the game.

“He is OK, he is awake, he is conscious. He's speaking and remembers what happened. He is in good hands, he is being assessed by the doctors.

“You have to take the right precautions, but he is OK. It was a collision with the knee of Coady, a big knock to his head but he is OK.

“We have to wait (before knowing whether he will miss games) and the following hours are important, he is going to be with the doctors and we have to wait for what's happening.

“These situations can happen, even in a normal situation of the game.

Wolves were phenomenal on the night as they took the game to Liverpool yet a 45-minute goal from Diogo Jota sailed the Reds through on the night as they collected all points to move five points within top four reach. Wolves are now winless in their four matches and remain 13th on 35 points.

The manager of the side, Nuno Espirito Santo says his side played the best game yet the opposition gave them everything.

“We played a good game, we competed well. We should do better with the final touch and final passes, but there was a good attitude and we fought until the end. They competed and gave everything they had.”
