The Housing Minister, Francis Asenso Boakye, announced in Parliament on Tuesday November 8, 2023 that the government has already paid GH¢13.7 million as rent advance for six regions with 1,105 citizens benefitting from the scheme.
Speaking on Kessben Maakye today, Honourable Asamoah said the statement came as a surprise to the Committee as no policy document has been provided by the Ministry.
He also mentioned that the bill hasn't been approved yet funds have already been disbursed.
Additionally, he highlighted that the policy's implementation is being facilitated by a private body, not the Ministry.
Mr. Asamoah highlighted the lack of transparency in the policy implementation.
He mentioned that policies like 1D1F and One Village, One Dam are good, but the implementation methods are poor.
