Hundreds of farmers in Aframso-Ejura Sekyedumase are crying following the destruction of their rice farms by the heavy down on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

According to the farmers, former President John Dramani Mahama made an irrigation dam for rice farmers in Aframso so that they can produce more rice and due to the heavy downpour the irrigation dam has overflowed and destroyed all the 200 acres of their rice farms.

Some of the farmers who spoke to Soireenews via telephone call appealed to the government and other authorities to come to their aid.

However, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Director in Ejura Sekyedumase District, Mr Salifu M. Abdul Razak has confirmed the disaster.

Mr Razak then advised Ghanaians farmers especially those in Ejura and its environs to take keen note of climate change.

"We are in the raining season so farmers have to be vigilant," he added.
