Police Shooting: the police officer was nearly lynched - Police Commander

The Divisional Police Commander for Tamale, Chief Superintendent George Yaboah Ofori has lamented over the shooting incident at Lamasheigu in Tamale yesterday Sunday.

According to him, the incident was unfortunate and at time of the incident he was out of the jurisdiction with the vice president Mahamadu Bawumia.

According to him, he rushed to the Lamasheigu Naa palace to have a clear idea about the incident and where suspect police officer was held hostage.

He said, the police officer was nearly lynched by the angry youth who stormed the Lamasheigu palace.

He however commended the chief of Lamasheigu, Naa Ziblim Abubakar for rescuing the police officer.

Adding that, visit to the Tamale Teaching Hospital really confirmed the shooting incident.
