Police grab 7 more Suspects over clash between NPP, NDC in Nkrankwanta

7 more persons have been arrested by the police in the Bono Region in connection with last Saturday's clash between some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that left one person dead and two others severely injured at Nkrankwanta.

The seven were arrested on Monday, August 10, 2020.

Three suspects - Ali Musah, 33, Ibrahim Acquah, 33 and Amos Aning, 38 - were earlier arrested to assist in investigations into the incident at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District.

The incident happened at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District following a disagreement between the two groups.

The deceased, Kofi Larbeth, 36 who was pronounced dead at the Dormaa-Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital was injured in the clash together with two others, Kwame Gutan, 33 and Elliasu Gabriel, 45.

They were all sent to the Dormaa West District District Hospital at Nkrankwanta before Kofi Laberth was referred to the Dormaa-Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital.

The Member of Parliament for Dormaa West, Mr Ali Maiga Halidu said the deceased, Kofi Larbeth, was a member of the NPP while one of the injured was from the side of the NPP and the other from the NDC.
