Ghana's opposition Convention People's Party (CPP) has stated that Kwame Nkrumah, the country's first president, will be reburied in November.

Mr. Nkrumah was not granted a proper burial by the state after his death in April 1972, according to the ruling party of the time, and his "spirit was still restless."

Mr. Nkrumah died in Bucharest, Romania, 50 years ago and was buried in his Nkroful hometown in southern Ghana.

His remains were then moved to a mausoleum in Accra, Ghana's capital.

The CPP party has announced that a schedule of events leading up to Mr. Nkrumah's "real funeral" will be released soon.

It did not say whether Mr. Nkrumah's bones would be exhumed and reburied at another location.
