Panic Grips Gomoa Dominase Onion Sellers! -As Chief Threatens To Take Over Market Land
Nana Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX, The newly-installed chief of Dominase
The diabolical move by the Paramount Chief of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council in the Central Region, Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II to prevent people of Dominase from participating in the series of decision marking processes of onion market which was located at Dominase Junction in the Gomoa East District has angered the newly-installed chief of the area, Nana Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX.

The chief stated that the leadership of the Council, particularly the Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene in question had been cheating the people of Gomoa Dominase to benefits from their ascestors royalists for long, stressing that it is now the time for them to stand firmly  to demand their shares of their royalties from the Council.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Soirreenews.com, Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX stated categorically that the land for which the current onion market was built at Gomoa Dominase is the bonafide property of the people of Dominase and that the land in question is not for the Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council.

Mincing no words, Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX accused the Omanhene and his followers for not including members of the Dominase in onion market planning decisions because they don't want them to benefit directly from the royalists in the market which was build on their land.
"We are stating that the Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene is not inviting anybody from the Dominase to participate in the leadership of the market, the development when continues would compel we the owners of the onion market land to take over our ascestors land and evacuate the onion traders in the market," Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX stressed.
"So that Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II and his followers should find out another land  for the building of the market for onion sellers. We will take our land. And that after we are going to use the land for different purpose," Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX further emphasized.
He lamented that "through out the whole year, no developmental projects and programmes have come directly from the Council to the people of Dominase.
He pointed out that the Council under the leadership of the Omanhene don't think about the development of Dominase which was lacking several social and infrastructural amenities.
The chief stated that the people of Gomoa Dominase were under the Akyempim Traditional Council and that they have no bad intentions about the Council but its overlord [Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II] are sinking the development of Gomoa Dominase.
He said that Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II has played a leading role for the sitting of Gomoa East District Assembly in Potsin instead of Dominase which was on the initial plan of the central government.
"This situation has degenerated into the misunderstanding between the people of Potsin and Dominase. And we think that Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II having being the Paramount Chief of Gomoa Akyampim Traditional will invite the two communities to solve this issue amicably.
"Suddenly what we could see was that the Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene rather went to support the people of Potsin against Dominase over the sitting of the Gomoa East District Assembly office," Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX expressed shock.

"We are shock to hear in open public from Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II during the inauguration of the office complex of Gomoa East District Assembly that the people of Dominase donot have a land to host or build the Assembly within their community. This is statement made by Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II," he noted
" So however, the questions we are asking are that why is it that the people of Potsin who Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene claims have land to build the Assembly rather have to evacuate their Junior High School (JHS) students from their school compound before they built the Gomoa East District Assembly office on it," Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX rethorically asked.
On the location of onion sellers market in Dominase, the chief lamented that the people of Dominase have not benefits from the onion market as the way they should have gotten.
"So as it stance now, non of the people at Dominase community member is selling or have a portion within the onion market on the land of Dominase," the chief revealed.
Meanwhile, the Gomoa Akyampim Omanhene has stated that he don't want to hear people calling the name of the market as Dominase Onion Market, since there is a written on the entrance of the market as Akyempim Market. The decision for which we, the people of Dominase are protesting against," he noted.
He pointed out that " when you go to Kasoa, there is a market which supposed be named as the Odumpong market but the actual name the people called that market is Kasoa Market as compared to other market centres which they named after their towns and villages."
In this case, according to the chief, the people of Dominase realized that the Omanhene and his cohorts are trying to take their bonafide properity from them, vowing that they are not going to allow them.
"We are saying that through out the whole year, no developmental projects and programmes have come directly from the Gomoa Akyampim Traditional Council to the Gomoa Dominase.
He pointed out that the Council under the leadership of Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II don't think about the development of Gomoa Dominase which was lacking several social amenities.
"We are saying that Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II does not do anything directly which benefits the people in Dominase, so if these challenges continue in that way then we have no option than to withdraw our allegiance or homages from the Akuapim Traditional Council," the chief stressed.
